How do I join?

Just start attending services, talk to the clergy if you like, or attend parish events and get to know people. We understand that entering a church community can be nerve-wracking, and that it takes time and intention to develop the sense of family that is one of the great blessings of the local church. Each congregation has its own unique culture, and St. Thomas is no different. We are here to support you and help you along.

What time are you services?

8:00am Service:  Here we gather Anglican Book of Alternative Services using The Holy Eucharist in the Language of teh Book of Common Prayer 1962.  This is a said service with lots of time for silent prayer and reflection.  There is a similar sermon to the 10am, and we always have communion together.  We average 20 - 25 people.  Immediatley following the service we gather in the Foyer of the church for coffee, cookies and conversation.  If you are looking for a quiet and reflective serivce to start your Sunday morning, this is the service for you.  We would love to welcome you!

10am Service:  At 10am we currently average 70 - 90 people.  We provide Sunday School boxes with crafts for kids as well, the kids are invited to come forward for an interactive children's talk during the service.  Music is led from piano, guitar, drums and a handful of talents singers.  St. Thomas loves to sing and we ensure that every service is filled with worshipful music from traditional Anglican hymns, to modern contemporary praise songs.  Our service is liturgical as we follow ancient patterns of Christian worship in modern ways.  People have said that our worship at St. Thomas's feels, authentic and meaningful and they that feel like that belong.  We are thrilled that kids and seniors alike feel at home here.

What about my kids?

Children and families are welcome and encouraged to participate fully in the life and worship at St. Thomas! We provide children with indivdual Sunday School boxes complete with supplies for a craft and Lego to play with during the service.   You are welcome to bring quiet toys, books, and snacks for your children as needed, and feel free to nurse the baby in church if you choose. Children are invited to feel at home at St. Thomas's, we dont' bat an eye if a little one finds themselves wandering curiously around the church "checking things out."  God's house is a house with lots to see, touch and experience and we want kiddos to feel comfortable and at home in worship.

What if I don't know anything about the Bible, or Christianity, or whatever?

A life with Jesus begins with faith (and you don't even need much of that), not knowledge. While learning things is important, Christianity at its heart is a relationship with God. Over centuries, Christians have found many ways of building that relationship, and they're available for you to explore. But the first step is just to show up, or talk to one of the clergy. God meets you where you are, and so do we.

Do I have to pay?

Nope. Everything we do is free. The church is sustained by donations from parishioners along with some building rental income. From that money, we also contribute to the diocese and national church, and local and worldwide relief and ministry. People who have committed to St. Thomas often give money and time to support and build the life of the community as a sign of devotion and as a way to build generosity of heart. We do not require a particular amount or percentage. This is between you and God and should be discerned prayerfully.

What if I'm struggling with something?

Welcome to the club! Chances are that someone here has walked a similar path. We can help you find community and spiritual resources to support you.
