St. Thomas Blessing Backpacks and Shares Love with Neighbours

Children from St. Thomas, Sherwood Park, brought their backpacks and school supplies for our annual Blessing of Backpacks on Sunday, August 24. This year, we wanted to extend the blessing beyond our parish. In partnership with the neighbouring elementary school, we provided backpacks for children in Kindergarten through Grade 4 who might not otherwise have had the supplies they needed. In addition to blessing our own children and their backpacks, we prepared and blessed 27 backpacks for children in our wider community. Photos: Maks Bouwman
