After a two year break due to COVID we are thrilled to be participating in the 31st Ecumenical Mission of Strathcona County from October 2 to October 5, 2022

History:

Each year, churches from all around Strathcona County join together to host the Ecumenical Mission. The mission gives Christians from different denominations an opportunity to learn, visit, eat, pray, and sing together. Churches take turns hosting meals and events, chairing the planning committee, and inviting a guest speaker for the year.  The Ecumenical Mission has been going for over thirty years, and has furthered a true spirit of cooperation among participating churches. We are blessed to be involved with this unique ministry.

2022 Ecumenical Mission Theme and Guest Speaker:

This year's theme is "The Stones Cry Out: Jesus and Archeology".  We are delighted to welcome Rev. Dr. Stephen Chambers, our guest speaker this year.

For 17 years Pastor Steve taught at Concordiat Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton, and served as Academic Dean. He has also taught overseas in Ukraine, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.  Working with a team from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota and the University of Haifa, he spent six seasons excavating an early Christian church and monastery complex at Hippo.  Join us as Rev. Chambers as he gives us presentations on how archeaology informs biblica history!
